Little Rock (small business category), Altronic Research
Inc. of Yellville (mid-size category), and Acxiom Corporation
of Conway (large business category). |
“It
seems we hear a lot about corporate corruption and unethical
business leadership”, said Janet J. Robb, President
and CEO of the Arkansas Better Business Bureau. “News
stories often focus on these negatives, and the thousands
of companies who do ‘the right thing’ consistently
do not get the recognition they should receive.”
The Torch
Awards is open to all businesses in Arkansas and membership
in the Better Business Bureau is not a requirement or considered
as part of the criteria. Sixty-five Arkansas businesses were
nominated for the award this year and winners in three categories
were selected from twelve finalist companies. “Each
of these finalists have shown a commitment to the Bureau’s
mission of making Arkansas a better place in which to live,
work and do business through encouraging honesty, integrity
and proper business ethics in our growing marketplace,” remarked
James S. Renk, BBB Board Chairman.
The Better
Business Bureau is a nonprofit organization consisting of
Arkansas businesses that financially support the work of
the BBB in promoting self-regulation in the marketplace.
The Better Business Bureau is committed to promoting fair
advertising practices, resolving consumer/business complaints
and promoting ethical business polices.
